FC Edmonton Teams Up with Edmonton Tourism

EDMONTON, Ab. (February 13, 2012) – FC Edmonton, the city’s newest professional sports franchise, continues to build partnerships within the community and the club is pleased to announce its latest relationship with Edmonton Economic Development Corporation’s Tourism department.
Each year, Greater Edmonton attracts millions of visitors from nearby and around the world. FC Edmonton would like to encourage these visitors to take in the beautiful game while in Edmonton.
“We are happy to welcome FC Edmonton as a new tourism industry partner,” said Ken Fiske, vice president of Tourism and Special Events of Edmonton Economic Development Corporation. “This is another great opportunity for Edmonton Tourism to showcase our city. We are excited about the opportunity of working with FC Edmonton on many of our marketing initiatives.”
As part of the partnership, home games will be listed on www.edmonton.comand there will be opportunities to host external clients at home games to showcase Edmonton’s diverse sports community.
“This new partnership will benefit both FC Edmonton and tourism,” said Kelsie Myroniuk of FC Edmonton. “Working with Edmonton Tourism, our hope is to draw more international sporting events to the region.”
