FC Edmonton will have a large representation playing in the upcoming FIFA window for Canada with captain Nik Ledgerwood, midfielder Ben Fisk and defender Adam Straith earning call-ups to the Canadian Men's National Team and defender Marko Aleksic selected to the Men's U-23 Team.

The two squads will represent Canada on separate continents during the FIFA window for international matches. The Men's National Team will face Scotland in an away Men's International Friendly on 22 March in Edinburgh while the Men's U-23 Team, featuring players born 1994 or later, will compete in a three-nation international tournament against Uzbekistan (25 March) and Qatar (28 March).

Ledgerwood, Fisk, Straith and Aleksic are currently wrapping up a pre-season tour of Manchester, where FC Edmonton has faced Wigan Reserves, Burnley U-23's, Newcastle United U-23's before a Stoke City U-23 clash this upcoming Tuesday. Canada's 18-man squad predominantly features players from European-based clubs who will break during the March window.

Among the most experienced players called into the squad are Ledgerwood and Straith, both with 40 or more international matches at the "A" level. The squad also features some youth, with eight players aged 24 or younger.

Canada Soccer's Men's National Team Program is currently preparing for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which runs 7 to 26 July across 13 venues in USA. Taking place every two years, the CONCACAF Gold Cup is the official national team championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Drawing large crowds and millions of television viewers from across the region, the Gold Cup is a celebration of soccer, sportsmanship, and culture.
