EDMONTON, A.B. -- Striker Tomi Ameobi's brace against the New York Cosmos, goalkeeper Nathan Ingham's first two North American Soccer League (NASL) starts and another strong defensive showing from centre-back Abdoulaye Diakité helped earn the trio spots in this week's NASL Team of the Week on Tuesday, June 13.

Making his first appearances in the NASL, Ingham made a total of eight saves, including stopping one penalty kick. He helped the Eddies defeat the New York Cosmos, 4-2, last Wednesday before having another strong performance this past Saturday at Clarke Stadium, despite a 1-0 loss to Miami FC.

Diakité helped the Eddies defeat the Cosmos, including making a goal-line clearance at MCU Park. In the club’s second game of the week, he won all five of his tackles, won all seven of his duels, and made eight clearances as well as making five interceptions, although it came in a loss to Miami.

Ameobi scored a pair of goals in the Eddies’ victory road against the Cosmos to make it three on the season for the Newcastle, England product, already surpassing is total of two from last season.
