FC Edmonton defenders Abdoulaye Diakité & Pedro Galvão along with striker Tomi Ameobi were named to the North American Soccer League's (NASL) Team of the Month for August after playing a key role in FC Edmonton's strong start to the Fall Season campaign.

Ameobi has found his form early with two goals and two assists in five matches to begin the second half of the 2017 campaign. The Newcastle, England product's goal against the San Francisco Deltas on August 26 earned him NASL Goal of the Week honours in addition to two Team of the Week nominations in August.

Diakité has provided a steady presence for the Eddies at centre-back in his second season with the club. He made the second most clearances (33) and was tied for the most blocks (9) in August. He also won 17 duels, made 13 clearances, and seven interceptions.

Galvao has been an unsung hero for the Eddies in 2017, starting at the left-back position in every Fall Season match and the last 13 matches in total. Despite being defensive in position, Galvão is fourth in chances created for FC Edmonton and was second in duels won (25) by defenders in August as well as leading the league in interceptions (13).
