MIAMI — Stiff opposition awaits FC Edmonton in their final match of the 2017 North American Soccer League (NASL) season when the club visits Miami FC on Saturday, October 28 at Riccardo Silva Stadium. Kickoff is at 5:30PM MT and the match can be streamed live on NASL.com.

It’s the end of the long road as the regular season concludes this weekend with both sides in contrasting positions in the table heading into the 32nd match of the campaign. Saturday’s opposition in Miami FC have been dominant with 20 wins and 66 points — a modern-day NASL record — while the Eddies have been eliminated from postseason contention this season after losing out in last year’s Championship Semifinal against the Indy Eleven.

The Eddies eye a blow to Miami’s postseason momentum and look to end their season off on a high note with a victory against the Florida side, something they’ve failed to do in all six previous meetings with Miami (0W-0D-6L). Scoring against Miami has been difficult for the entirety of the NASL, but the Eddies have failed to score in all six of the two sides’ previous meetings.

FC Edmonton arrive in Miami after losing 2-0 midweek in Kissimmee, FL. against Puerto Rico after the match was rescheduled and moved to central Florida following the impact of Hurricane Maria in early September.

Respite for the Eddies on the road comes after Miami’s five-game home unbeaten streak was snapped on October 7 in a 3-0 loss to San Francisco, also ending their franchise-record streak of 13 straight home games with a goal scored. However, Miami has never been held scoreless in back-to-back NASL home games.

The two sides didn't see each other for over four months before meeting in two of the final three matches of the season. Miami ran out winners in FC Edmonton's final home match of 2017 back on October 21 with goals from Dylan Mares and Stefano Pinho, who's scored five goals in his seven appearances against the Eddies -- the second-most for the striker against any NASL opponent.
